Chieng Khoi is a place where the Thai people reside.
In Hiem village, Chieng Khoi commune, Yen Chau district, there is a big
stone cave named Hang Doi cave (Bat Cave). The cave has many alleys
with a sufficient supply of water and light for the life of a number of
creatures, especially bats.
The Thai people have long used bat
meat to process dishes, which are considered rare and precious and
presented to parents only. According to broad masses of the Thai
people, if children eat bat dishes regularly, they will grow fast, be
clever and agile, and old people will be healthy and live much longer.
As a result, bat meat is in favour of plenty of people.
